My story
Five years ago, I could never have predicted that I would become a writer. As a busy professional, I focused solely on my demanding career with no room for anything else. Writing seemed like an impossible dream. But, as fate would have it, life threw me a curveball.
Today's ever-evolving technology vastly differs from the time I grew up in. Back then, you simply did what was necessary, and that was the end of it. But nowadays, everything needs to be documented and submitted in a specific way. I found myself feeling lost and struggling to express my, let's call them "needs" in the way that the new generation expected.
Adapting to this new communication style was a difficult transition, requiring me to learn a new way of expressing myself.
Determined to overcome this obstacle, I read books, watched tutorials, and took courses on how to write and articulate my needs in written form. I learned the basics of grammar, punctuation, and formatting. I learned how to write effective emails, reports, and requests that would produce results.
After months of practice, I was able to write with clarity, brevity, and effectiveness.
Little did I know that this newly acquired skill would eventually lead me to a second career.
During a conversation with a friend, I shared my experiences and those of people I knew and loved. I had many stories to tell and wanted to share them with the world. My friend suggested that I write a book.
Initially, I laughed at the idea. Writing anything longer than an email seemed daunting. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that I had a unique story to tell. I took a leap of faith and began writing a book.
Unbeknownst to me, that book would become the first in a 10-book fictional series. Drawing inspiration from my own life experiences and those around me, I crafted an engaging story filled with passion and enthusiasm.
So let my story be a lesson for you to learn; that anything can change in an instant. If you had asked me a few years ago, when I had a desk full of "tasks" that needed to be completed, if I was going to be a writer, I would have laughed you out of my office. But here we are today, and I am grateful that you have taken the time to read my story.
